Review of The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) by Steve W — 30 Aug 2009
It's so sad that the studio cut so much out of Welles' film. It still manages to capture the overall story and has many of the elements, but it hurts from the cuts, bad edits, and overall messing up of the film by the studio.
Before it was cut it was consideredd better than even Citizen Kane - sadly we will never know ourselves. Great acting despite being hard to watch.
