This is a brilliant movie about the abuse and lack of basic human rights women faced when put into the Magdalene asylum for "wayward women"...these women had babies out of wedlock, were raped, or just talked to boys, yet were treated like indentured slaves.
..and the asylums/laundries only closed in 1996...disgusting...great acting by the actresses...wouldn't want to be the actress who played sister bridget though...would have to go to counselling just for that!
