The film documents the horrendous treatment suffered by the 'sinful' women under the cold, merciless nuns. Women torturing women in the name of morality & religion.
The last scene is especially interesting. One of the women who had escaped and started a new life saw 2 nuns whom she did not know at the bus stop years later. Immediately she felt an excruciating pain on her scalp. Physical wounds have healed but psychological scars run deep.
