Review of The Madness of King George (1994) by Byron B — 29 Apr 2010
Great cast of characters with enough acting chops amongst them to create a wonderful little look into the life of King George and his court. The acting is fine, particularly Nigel Hawthorne as the mad king.
Ian Holm, surprisingly, gives a so-so performance, perhaps because he doesn't have enough with which to work. I enjoyed the little digs at the modern-day royals, especially the Prince of Wales. Tongue-in-cheek criticisms that might be easily missed but quite funny to those who notice.
