Review of The Mad Monster (1942) by Wayne H — 09 Sep 2010
Produced by a poverty row studio in 1942, THE MAD MONSTER is just a failed atempt at cashing in on the WOLFMAN's success.
PLOT (OR LACK OF ONE).
A Mad scientist who has been discredited by his peers attempts to kill them off after he develops a secret formula that transforms his gardener into a murderous wolf man.
Honestly not that much in orginality with the story.
ACTING & DIRECTION.
Dull and unintersting, nothing speical at all.
SFX.
Ok for a movie made on skid row , Werewolf make up a cheap rip off of the impressive WOLFMAN make up produce by the great Jack Perice.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE MAD MONSTER (1942).
Its safe to say its a bad movie but it tries to be something memroblie but sadly fails mirsibly. Best part of the film for me seeing the wolfman in a floopy gardners hat, come on thats so funny to look at amougst this dull rip off.
4/10.
