Review of The Machinist (2004) by Sibusiso Y — 23 Aug 2011
I feel like I watched a direct result of Memento and Fight Club being mashed together. Not horrible but definitely underwhelming. It has captivating cinematography but the predictable story lines and awkward pacing made this one a bit of a chore to watch.
Major props to Christian Bale for losing 62 lbs to do the role. Trivia on the movie: Bale wanted to get his actual body weight down to 99 lbs but was stopped by the director to avoid health issues.
