A thriller that takes you on a ride with Trevor Reznik (Bale), a skeleton of a man who is completely losing his mind. Don't believe your eyes. Not much is as it appears. Of course you can't help falling into the illusion early in the picture.

I so wanted things to go well between Reznik and Marie. It seemed like things would finally start turning around in his mess of a life. But it was in the scene where he goes to her apartment that we start to realize with Reznik that something is screwed up with time and space and therefore something much deeper and darker is at work.

The mind game makes sense when you see all the clues come together, but meanwhile it makes for a very tricky puzzle. Bale is amazing as the scarily emaciated man at the center of the mystery. John Sharian gets under your skin, as he does with Bale's character.

Jennifer Jason Leigh and Aitana Sanchez-Gijon play the two women in Reznik's life. They are like night and day, two sides of the same coin. They both are believable in their roles. Bale, who claimed he just didn't eat to lose the weight for this role, deals with some terrifying demons as Reznik.
