Review of The Machinist (2004) by Larry L — 03 Feb 2012

I really, really wanna give it 4 1/2 stars. Because it takes a stand and it?s something I will support and promote, so it should be a 4 1/2? But, I wont... (hold for boo?s) I think that pretty much everything was great directing, check.

The sound, check. The story, check. The editing, check. And the lightning, that was really gray and dark, I can count on one hand how many movies that pull of this kind of darkness and shit, and this is truly one of them.

There is much suspense and moments when you really not know whats gonna happened next, and it really keeps you on the edge of the chair the whole movie. ...And I too like to write notes at night on what to do the next day when you're fucked in the head.

Well..the bad part..and this could be totally great the next time I see it,but I just felt it was too short, Sure the movie wraps itself together nice in the end and I was happy with it, but for some reason, not happy enough.

I don't know what I wanted to see, but 30 minutes longer and something more of an epic thing maybe. I?m sorry for everyone I've hurt, but it's my feelings.
