This film is compared with mixing Fight Club with Memento, however barely matches up to either. It was good enough with Christian Bale showing a disturbing and dedicated side to his acting ability, with Jennifer Jason Leigh being there as a great support actress.
The Machinist shows a realistic side and concept, with some thought provoking bits and a careless plot. But is more like a petrol station novel turned into a film, boosted by Christian Bales weight loss shock, than anything really spectacular.
