Review of The Machinist (2004) by Facebook U — 28 Feb 2015
Psycho thriller and mysterious story line that resolve perfectly. The script was floating around in Hollywood but the film could not be made. It is a movie that thinks, that is sensible, that makes a good point.
It is not for your regular english psychopath. What happens when the guilt strikes? A nice guy, riddled (litterally) by guilt, cannot cope normally and looses memory and can't sleep anymore, and seems to lack apetite as well.
We are made to wonder if he is a serial killer in his sleep at first. The script is exellent at keeping the mystery while making perfect sense psychologically in the end. This is a pearl of a film to be cherished by anyone with a conscience.
