This movie was pretty cheesy and starting to follow the trend of cranking out another popular authors books into a movie shtick. It is a cookie cutter romance movie based on the book by Nicholas Sparks.

I have not read the book so I don't know how accurate it is, but the thing that disturbed me the most was the relationship between the lead female and her lost relative. We never see them interact but it comes across as a different relationship and then just creepy and then just doesn't wash.

Was incest involved or not. The other main thing that pissed me off is that mis-casting of Zac Efron as a lead to the female lead. All of the other actors seemed so much older than him and the age difference was never addressed so you never found out if he just looked really young for his age after being in a war for 3 tours or if everyone else was way older.

I didn't really care for the lead actress all that much. I loved Blythe in this. She is such a classy actress who is the heart and soul and veteran of this movie. So unfortunately this movie was very cheesy and felt like whoever made it just cranked out another - sort of like how John Grisham books became so routine movies.

I hate when producers go half effort on movies and just hope the audience will assume it's just as good as "The Notebook." good thing I only rented this on demand.
