Review of The Lucky One (2012) by Michelle K — 23 Sep 2012
Lovely romance and despite some cliches, it does a great job of connecting the viewer into their world. Zac Efron is absolutely bewitching, one of the most handsome men on the screen. His eyes are hypnotic, his body to die for! Oh but I digress.
.A 25 year old Iraq war veteran (Zac Efron playing Logan Thibault) finds a photo of a blonde woman in the Iraqi war zone. Moments after picking up the photo an explosion kills many of his friends that were in the spot he was in but by moving to the spot where the photo was, his life was saved so he credits the woman in the picture with saving his life.
After his discharge from the US Marines, he makes it a priority to find the identity of the woman and her location to tell her how fate intervened and saved his life thanks to her. Before long, Logan manages to find Beth (Taylor Schilling) and get a job at a kennel, setting his sights on winning Beth's heart.
But it will not be easy because Beth's past experiences have made her wary of relationships. Meanwhile, as Logan works to earn Beth's trust, a dark secret from her past threatens to derail his hope for a happy future together.
It is a sweet film, as always Nicholas Sparks book adaption is a hit. I have not read the book, I rather watch the film! This film reinforces my belief that fate is alive and well, that chance, encounters happen for a reason.
That when two people are destined to be together fate intervenes on their behalf. Loved it and highly recommended!!
