Review of The Lucky One (2012) by Nadine M — 20 Nov 2012
Mmm, another one to add to my ultimate love collection.
The fact that the directors use pretty actors for these films just makes these stories so much more addictive. This film features none other than Zach Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner.
This movie â" like so many others, is a romantic drama that is based on the novel written by Nicholas Sparks who is the same author that wrote Dear John and The Notebook. Admittedly I have not read the novel â" yet.
The movie however held deep significance and touched my heart as Iâ(TM)m sure it would for many. In brief the movie revolves around a soldier â" Logan played by Zach Efron that has served his third tour of duty in Iraq and returns after narrowly escaping a roadside bomb. He seems to feel that his survival was due to a picture of a woman he retrieved shortly prior to surviving a mortar attack.
After his duty finished he returns to Colorado where he lives with his sister. As he struggles with âSurvivorâ(TM)s guilt,â? he decides to leave and go and look for his guardian angel. Of course the full story and plot canâ(TM)t be summed up within such a short description.
So all I am going to say is that itâ(TM)s something that deals with varied factors but that would touch many a heart. (The fact that dear old Zach buffed up and grew a beard definitely contributes).
