Review of The Lucky One (2012) by Edward C — 07 Nov 2013
Plot/Summary,U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive--a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.
My Review(Book&Film Review).
While many people don't crave Nicholas Sparks books and films it's because half of them are men when this is mainly for women. Why do I like and read his books? Easy i'm softhearted and have never found love which is why I like and read his books. The Lucky One was my second read Nicholas Sparks book I read so this is pretty important to me. The Lucky One is about a marine sergeant Logan Thibault who finds a picture of a smiling beautiful women and is told by his friend Victor that's it's his lucky charm. Logan searches for her and walks all the way from Colorado to Hampton and meets Beth(Elizabeth) who has just went through a divorce with Keith Clayton. AS Logan and Elizabeth form a love his picture could just tear them apart. The Film captured the fate thin pretty well in my opinion as for the cinematography everything in Hampton looks beautiful. They capture Hampton very well with their shots of the small town. The pacing is very bad in the beginning of the film. Everything in the beginning just feels rushed and I don't like that not to mention Logan barely mentions Victor. They didn't show Victor die by the boat in the beginning either and that's just seemed kind of a let down. They got the way Ben Logan meet all wrong but i'll let that sly. As for everything it's great it feels like The Lucky One not to mention to me (Spoiler Alert) they should of just stuck with the ending in the book which was in the end Logan and Keith drowned to death. But overall this movie is one of the best Nicholas Sparks adaptions in a while.
