Review of The Luck of the Irish (2001) by Rachel R — 27 Jul 2007
"It's the Luck of the Irish!" - Yeah, or so you thought. This movie stars Ryan Merriman as a teen boy that carries this magic coin around his neck, which apparently gives him good luck. Until one day, he wakes to find himself shorter, his hair red tipped, and his ears all pointy.
Has he turned into a leprechaun? A sinister character enters onto the scene - Seamus. He has stolen Kyle's lucky coin, and Kyle and his friends must embark on a crazy adventure, and must compete in several challenges against Seamus to win back the prized charm.
This, my friends, would be a FABULOUS movie, if not for it's crazy, goofy ending. This, like in Get A Clue, is a very poor taste for a family movie night, if you seek some big great adventure movie with no corny endings.
(Or even that to watch with friends.) If you can handle watching some man's eyes turn green, beard blaze and grow red, ears get flabby, as he scowls around a basketball court WITHOUT LAUGHING...This, my dear friend.
.. IS NOT FOR YOU!!!
