"The Lovers" utilizes its slow pacing perfectly thanks to Writer/Director Azazel Jacobs' ability to create and develop characters, and the casts ability to give those characters life, and relatability.
Every subtle look and pause has meaning, and everything each character says adds depth and feeling to their relationships. It's not the most flashy movie of the year, but it has a realness that will make it stand out from the rest of the pack.
