Review of The Lovers (2017) by Susan P — 27 May 2017

I am startled by the positive critical reviews of this movie. The characters were massively unappealing one and all. The dialogue was truly awful. The way the showed that people in the movie were being clever was by having them look at texts on their phone and chuckle.

The sex scenes caused excruciating cognitive dissonance. Yes, I get the message the movie put across. There is something titillating about cheating, even if it is with your own spouse. Interesting concept but SUCH a painful way to get it across.

I have to go back through and memorize every single critic who wrote a positive review of this movie, starting with Peter Travers of The Rolling Stone so I can add a giant grain of salt to any future recommendations they may make.
