So, not too long ago, I read Alice Sebold's "The Lovely Bones." For me, it was somewhat of a hard read, but it had such emotional impact and powerful storytelling that it stands as one of my favorite books.

When I found out that one of my favorite directors, Peter Jackson, was making The Lovely Bones, I knew that that was one movie that I could not miss out on. I was almost certain that it would be a great book to film adaptation, that Peter Jackson could really pull off making The Lovely Bones into a film just as worthy as the book itself.

Well, I guess that I had too high of expectations, as the film was a disappointment and it left me feeling like I really wanted to watch something else. I left the film feeling somewhat strange about it, I didn't love it or hate it, but I'm leaning more towards not liking it.

The acting was pretty good, and there was especially a great performance by Stanley Tucci as Mr. Harvey. The performances from everyone else was quite good as well, but as a whole, I didn't really like the movie.

It seemed too that Peter Jackson used too much special effects which took a little away from the emotional impact, though some of the visuals were outstanding. Overall, I recommend reading the book, and ditching the movie.
