Review of The Lovely Bones (2009) by David R — 24 Oct 2012
Mesmerizing. Anxiety inducing. Emotionalâ?¦ and a little bit corny when you step back and look at it. Performances were great, Stanley Tucci is especially amazing. I found the afterlife images lovely (despite being an atheist), and so much of the emotion was communicated powerfully via strong acting and cinematography.
Over all the story is intriguing but in the end a little disappointing. [I have a feeling this was tested in front of a group of mall shoppers and the studio made Jackson add something at the end].
