Review of The Lovely Bones (2009) by Elise B — 14 Apr 2012
"The Lovely Bones" is a film that stresses the importance of closure and tells a tale of life, limbo & eternity. Overall it was a decent movie. My faith tells me that limbo for an innocent character like Susie, played by Saoirse Ronan, would not be as hell-like at times, as it was in this film.
Also, I would liked to have seen what her heaven finally became. My favorite part ironically was Grandma Lynn, Susan Sarandon, who added a bit of comic relief to the film. Though she was a drinker, a smoker, a pill popper & beyond, somehow she managed to capture the best of life & dealing with reality, a good homemaker or not.
It was worth watching, to think about life.
