Review of The Love Punch (2014) by Ian G — 05 Oct 2014
One of those blue hair comedies starring two all star Brits in Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan as a divorced couple who are forced to pair back together with their hard put on friends when Brosnan's company's business party embezzles their pensions to the tune of $10 million, leaving them virtually broke and forced to take desperate measures to get it back buy stealing it back in the form of the $10 million diamond it bought.
It wants to be fun and light but with these types of heist comedies they do benefit from a sense of tension to help balance out the laughs and unfortunately on that end the director decided to play it safe and you can sense the ending coming a mile away.
Stock to a fault.
