Review of The Love Nest (1923) by Aj V — 06 Jul 2010
Keaton plays with dark comedy, despair and dreams in this nautical outing. not as satisfying as his over boat pictures, but still pretty awe-inspiring in terms of the way keaton stages and shoots his sequences (the bit with the naval weapons practice comes to mind, especially).
this short displays keaton as the burgeoning filmmaker we'll see later in 'sherlock jr.' and 'the navigator' quite well.
