A very charming romantic comedy. However, the trailer makes it look as if the letter would be spread through more hands than just helen (Capshaw) and Janet (DeGeneres). It's a very charming tale, about a mysterious letter that changes the lives of people in the small town of Loblolly by the sea, including a college student, a fireman, and a librarian.
Plus, I love the soft, enchanting musical score for the movie, setting the tone perfectly.
