Review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) by Alonso G — 21 Oct 2017
The last 15 minutes are one of the stupidest things I've ever seen, and the film as a whole can't live up to the first film no matter how hard it tries, but The Lost World somehow improves on the special effects of the original, and overall is a very underrated sequel.
The acting is surprisingly great, and although it's a little uneven, there are enough great scenes to justify a rewatch. The literal "cliffhanger" scene in the trailer is nail-bitingly tense, and the Velociraptor ambush in the tall grass is as fun to watch as it is brutal.
Overall, The Lost World is a more than adequate addition to the franchise, especially if you skip the whole "T-Rex on the mainland" second ending.
