Review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) by Andrew F — 18 Jan 2018
The set-up is about the best that could be for an unnecessarily to a film that was not left open for one. The shift to Goldblum is welcome and it was sensible to build on his complicated family life hinted at in the previous film, as well as how he was affected by its events since then, unfortunately these compelling elements are underdeveloped and ultimately fizzle out towards the end with no satisfactory resolution.
The final half hour jettisons any human drama entirely in exchange for mindless and uninvolving disaster movie action, which turns what might have been a passable sequel into a poor one.
