Review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) by Landon M — 15 Jun 2015
An underrated sequel to one of Spielberg's best, Jurassic Park. It is not as fun as the first movie, but it creates it's own feel, one that I actually enjoyed greatly. The characters are still interesting, the cinematography is great, and the CGI is breathtaking.
Sure, some characters feel cartoony, and some elements fall flat, but as a movie it did pull off horror maybe even better than the first movie. I felt like I was watching a horror movie rather than a grand spectacle.
As a thriller, it is incredibly suspenseful. The last act actually surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. It's a little choppy getting there, but when the finale starts, you are engaged 100%. It's not perfect, but it's certainly not as bad as everyone says.
I will dare to say this movie is great. Sue me. 8.5/10.
