Review of The Lost Weekend (1945) by Benjamin S — 16 May 2010
Scary portrayal of the effects of alcoholism. Well written, well acted. This movie does not support prohibition, in fact it denounces it for promoting irresponsible drinking in the first place. In sum, a great commentary on today's War on Drugs, even if Billy Wilder wasn't going for that message in 1945.
