Review of The Lost Weekend (1945) by Nandan S — 20 Jan 2009

I had a lot of expectations for this one. There were scenes that worked, but the story was just not there. I try not to laugh at hokey special effects, but I really couldn't take them seriously here. The supporting actress disappeared just as her subplot was getting interesting. The first and last image of the film didn't do it for me, either.

Perhaps if I was drinker, I could have gotten into this film. Unfortunately...
