Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by Linda S — 14 May 2017
I had the misfortune of seeing this after the even worse Emily Dickinson documentary A Great Passion. Since I had read the book, I had high hopes for The Lost City of Z. As other reviewers have said, it was Very Boring in Many parts. I only saw one person mention the photography- but it was terrible. You know how it is when you forget that you accidentally set your laptop screen darker? It was like that. I felt like I had to squint and I still couldn't see any detail.
It was pretty much: guys go into jungle, native shoot at guys with flurry of arrows and only one guy gets hit, guys go into jungle again and meet more natives and more arrows. Add some pestilence and infection. Guys go home. And Repeat. It could have been So Good!!
