Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by David L — 03 Jul 2017
The Lost City of Z is so well shot with beautiful scenery, its real life story is so intriguing and the film succeeds as a biopic and as adventure thanks to strong characterization and a very good, classic approach to it, but the second half isn't as immersive as the first one is thanks to some overly standard scenes and the direction and acting should have been better.
It is a good film, but never as great as it could have been.
