Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by Safeer S — 25 Aug 2018
Beautifully sentimental biographical film based on the story of Percy Fawcett and his search for an ancient city within the Amazon jungles after the turn of the 19th century. It's about family and passion and the desire to reach for greater things with an open mind and an open heart.
Take note, this is not really an adventure film in the modern sense (Indy et al.), not action-packed or fast-paced - it is, however, a film that inspires to adventure, and it calls to mind older, slower historical epics.
With that in mind, it may not meet your expectations, but I personally found it moving.
