Okay, I gotta give Joel Schumacher some credit for this one. Even though I can't stand most of his movies, this one has always been a memorable movie for me. I was shocked when I found out that he directed it. If you don't think that a teenage punk Kiefer Sutherland vampire could be scary, then watch this and be proven wrong.
One of the strong points of the film is its ability to mix horror and humor. There are a whole lot of subtle jokes here and there. And who can forget the last lines of the movie?
I have heard some say that "The Lost Boys" is flawed. Sure, you'd be hard pressed to find a movie without flaws. But the question is whether the flaws get in the way of the enjoyment. In the case of "The Lost Boys", this is not true. "The Lost Boys" is a fun, teen vampire romp which could teach modern teen vampire films a few lessons.
