Review of The Lost Boys (1987) by Jon P — 23 Jun 2013
Playing out a little like The Goonies-meets-Ghostbusters on MTV, it's easy to see how Joel Schumacher's 80s vampire romp landed its place as a modern classic. However, the film's charismatic charm and rip-roaring rock anthems aren't always enough to veil the fact that its soulless performances render its characters as transparent as Jason Patric's ghostly reflection.
Cult 80s nonsense with a sweet satirical exterior and a throwaway core.
