Review of The Lost (2006) by Gun Ä — 02 Jan 2009
Grim small-town drama about bad boy Ray who killed two girls in cold blood for no apparent reason other than he's a bit mental. Four years on and the cops are still on his tail whilst he continues to charm the ladies.
Ray - in a frightening portrayal by Marc Senter - is a weak insecure fella who walks funny because he puts crushed cans in the soles of his boots, has flies buzzing round his slick-backed hair and acts all smarmy towards girls.
Of course we know there's a huge amount of anger bubbling under the surface and when he explodes the last half hour of The Lost is a white knuckle ride of unrelenting unpleasantness. Effective, shocking work from Sivertson with a cracking soundtrack to boot.
