Not a scary film but visually omnipotent, sadly Zombie fails to really muster any atmosphere or tone in spite of the imagery. The homages to other films sometimes feel more like rip-offs and the anti-religious symbolism is hammered into the bloody ground.
The Lords of Salem ultimately appears more of a pretentious artistic statement than a full fledged film.
