Review of The Lords of Salem (2013) by Sean D — 06 Oct 2014

I'm about to just say besides maybe the remake of Halloween and its sequel and maybe some of his other films, his films are literally art house films. They just simply are not for everybody. This film was borderline more graphic than all his other films, okay maybe not Halloween. But it had literally 33 deaths, but only one actual killing.

I don't dislike this movie and I certainly don't love it. But I prefer it much more than House of 1000 Corpses. I will say for one thing, I hear The Devil's Rejects, or the sequel to the aforementioned film is basically his best movie. Anyway, I'm going on a tangent as usual.

I almost don't think anyone reads half the stuff I put on my page. Then again, maybe I have s lot of readers but they aren't much on the commenting side. Well, I certainly have no clue, personal pages don't list likes anyway.

This film has a simple to difficult plot line to understand. It's all of a matter of how well you think you understand it and pay attention. When I thought I understood everything, it started going straight over the top and kinds threw out half of the things that I thought made sense.

Here's another one of the few films folks, another one in which there is no particular happy ending or traditional ending or ending in the way you want it. You don't exactly get that satisfaction from Rob Zombie. Well all right then! But it was enough that I wasn't bitching that I wanted it to be over like the two prior films that I watched this prior evening. It's a pretty interesting film, seems tense, seems short. But it gets the point it was trying to make across and is a very chilling and opposite look at the Salem Witch Trials.
