The Two Towers was way better that The Fellowship of the Ring in my opinion. The Battle of Helm's Deep was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, it has the same lack of pacing as Fellowship although it isn't as bad.
It seems as if the filmmakers (well technically it was the author of the novels), but not enough important characters died, besides the Elf that we barely knew. Good movie, maybe great, but not fantastic.
