The second chapter of the trilogy features two incredible achievements that have to be mentioned . The character of Gollum/Smeagol is so convincingly played by Andy Serkins that you forget you're watching a CGI character.
The other is the battle of Helm's Deep, one of the greatest high epic battles ever put to screen. This movie features fantastic interplay between Gimli and Legolas and makes for a very good comic relief in an otherwise very serious movie.
In this movie Sam and Frodo are separated from the Fellowship and are joined in their quest to destroy the ring in the fires of mount doom by Gollum.
