Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by Anisa W — 29 Sep 2013
What can be said of this? Simultaneously the most satisfying and least satisfying conclusions to a series ever, simply because once it is over the immediate feeling is one of longing. Longing for this masterful journey to never end.
But sadly it has an end. The good news is that the end is perfectly made, achieving remarkable wonders in the roughly three and a half hours it lasts. It will be remembered for a long time as the standard for the fantasy genre and film-making in general. Solidifying this trilogy as a must see, it is the very definition of "masterpiece.".
