Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by Thomas L — 04 Oct 2013

IF I was forced to pick a favorite movie of all time, this one would definitely have a chance of winning! Every single thing in this movie works perfectly. The camerawork is fantasticly well done, and the visuals are breathtaking. The Action is by every means exhilarating. The score is absolutely amazing. Every single shot is so impressive to look at.

This movie is no doubts long (3 hrs 21 min), but I cannot see ANY shot that deserves to be cut from the film. And the movie moves with the perfect pace, while also giving us some time to breathe. I remember checking out how far I was into the movie, thinking maybe 20-30 minutes had passed. GOOD GOD! An entire hour had already passed. I will admit that the ending seemed to drag on a bit, but it was also very nice to see the movie take it's time to rund off the story perfectly.

Then we have the characters. I really loved all of them. They were all 3-dimensional characters. I especially liked how Sam needed to be stronger the weaker frodo was. That was really impressive.

I also liked seeing all the dilemmas Aragorn had to go through, and how he has to find his inner strength.

So with al this said, is it then even possible for me to rate it no less than 5 of 5 stars? I do not think so. It deserved every single one of the 11 oscars it received!
