Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by José Carlos Á — 20 Jun 2015
"The Return of the King" is the finale for the three-part "The Lord of the Rings" and ends the adaptation of the classic story in an unbeatable form, thanks to more epic special effects and large-scale battles, better than ever performances from the cast (with Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Miranda Otto and Andy Serkis standing out), outstanding writing (even if we continue with some deviations) and one highly emotional climax and ending.
With this finale, "The Lord of the Rings" is easily one of the best trilogies and stories ever released, and "The Return of the King" easily stands as one of the best films ever made.
