Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by Nik M — 27 Jun 2016
It's not the length. Being an extended edition there are expected scenes that play little to no effect on the film. However, with this many useless Gimli jokes, re-edits and stretched scenes that inflict on the pacing just upset the tone of timeline.
It's still quite spectacular and does provide few explanations for some questions in the theatrical release.
