Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Bill D — 23 Apr 2018
It has become a classic and set the standard for the genre. One has to love all the beautiful New Zealand scenes. But I cannot help but feel oppressed by the darkness of all the orcs and goblins. I prefer the dancing swords and arrows of the somewhat lighter Hobbit series.
And thank goodness for Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler adding what little diversity the film has.
