The best of the three, the Fellowship of the Rings is a fresh look at Tolkien's masterpiece. The beginning festivities of the Shire sets up well what's at stake in the coming epic war between good and evil.
As Frodo descends slowly but inexorably to the heart of the ring's darkness, we go down with him. Great effects, great cast, and taut storyline.
