Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Dan M — 11 Sep 2016

4 out of 5 stars! While the story is a little slow and not my favorite of the series, this film is a beautiful piece of art to behold. I prefer the more complex and exciting storytelling of the likes of "The Two Towers" or Game of Thrones, but this is a nice, warm, and inviting film, that sets the stage well for the rest of the series (including the Hobbit films).

I give it 3 1/2 stars for story, but boost it to 4 stars for all that it accomplished visually and in terms of film making technique. It is without a doubt a classic and groundbreaking film.
