The problem with this one is they didn't stick with Rankin and Bass to do the animation. Instead they handed it over to Bakshi who used real actors, then cartoonized them to give it a weird stylized look.
They should have forgotten about the fancy styling and just stuck to the good storyline. Thankfully the third movie did end up back with Rankin and Bass.
