Review of The Lord of the Rings (1978) by Zane T — 25 Jun 2009
Okay, it's not great, but it is still watchable. I like how Ralph Bakshi attempted to adapt Tolkein's boring prose to a interesting story. You can't compare this with Peter Jackson's movies, because they're not the same.
Actually, PJ stole a few things from this movie as it is apparent once they appear. The biggest problem I think people have with this is that it leaves such an opening at the end as we were expecting a second part that never arrived.
