You can´t compare this animated film to the Jackson movies. Each has its plus. But this one is a real alternative to the new adaption and in some aspects it beats it. You can´t find more frightening Nazgul neither in the Jackson-movie nor in the countless art you find on the Internet.
People that dislike this film because the tricks are not up to date haven´t understood nothing. Technology will always improve and one day the Jacksonfilm-technology will be out-dated too. What remains is the atmosphere and the Bakshi-movie has dozens of it. I still watch this movie from time to time and can recommend it to everybody - if you dont have to have CGI necessarily.
