Review of The Lookout (2007) by Brian J — 05 Oct 2008
This well-written and clever movie finds its groove very quickly. Everyone involved does a good job carrying their roles and the thematic elements (sequencing, the notebook, reclaiming what is lost) are repeated just enough to give stability without becoming cumbersome.
The editing is sharp as well, and unlike so many movies these days, it's clear that the entire production team had the end in mind from the beginning (watch the movie, I just ended with a clever ode to the film).
*pats himself on back*.
