The Longshots isn't a bad movie, but it's not particularly good either. Disney is trying to make a baby version of the great Remember the Titans and it just doesn't work fully. First, you never really get a feel for what kind of league they play in.

It's too small for high school yet they have broadcasters which throws out the idea of it being in middle school. The kids themselves look like 7th graders at the most. My second strike for this movie would be the football scenes feel uninspired and lame.

They play slow and the takcles are weak. My final strike is the unbelievable parts. Mainly, the uncle teaching the girl to play quarterback in a month. Sorry, but I just think it would take a little bit longer.

Sure I've got problems with the film, but there are some positives. One being the relationship of between the uncle and Jasmine. They first hate each other, which is understandable, then they grow to love each other, and it all feels very real and authentic.

My other compliment would be the town coming together to pay for the team to go to their playoff game. It really showed there's still good in this world. This is mainly a feel-good movie. You can't hate it because it stays positive most of the time and makes you feel good watching, but it still suffers from some cliche moments.

If you watch the movie, you'll probably like it, but love it.
